Heathen Day

Brendan gets back a week from today! I feel like I'm only 3/4ths of a person when he's not here.

Also... my parents are giving me $100 for keeping the house together while they were gone. I know I don't deserve nearly that amount of money, because I enjoy being home by myself, but I did do alot more work than when they are home.

And they are giving my sister $100 for not drinking or having parties while they were gone. How fair is that?

My dilemma is: I really want a sewing machine, and I am going to learn how to sew things. Now, my mom has a pretty nice but really old Singer that she is willing to give to me for free. Having never sewn before, I really have no idea if it is nice or more complicated to use or anything. The few times I've gotten it out and my mom's tried to show me how to thread it, it takes like 30 minutes just to do that. I don't know if a new machine would be easier to thread and use, or if thay are just all like that. It also weighs about 25 pounds, but I don't know if newer ones are smaller either.

So, should I buy a new one or keep the money and take my mom's old one? Decisions decicions.

Newer sewing machines are lighter and easier to use. I'd spring for the new one if I was you.
